Halloween Returns to Kentucky Kingdom with HalloScream

For the first time in 10 years, Kentucky Kingdom will extend its season into October to celebrate Halloween with a new nighttime event, “HalloScream – Kingdom of Fear.”

A large area of the park will be dedicated solely to HalloScream and its unique attractions including two haunted houses:

  • Die Laughing – A Clown Funeral
  • Zombie Wasteland

More than 100 performers will participate in HalloScream, which also includes the following attractions:

  • Bizarre Bazaar – A Fear Market: An immersive retail environment of bizarre finds and gruesome gifts. Don’t miss the photo ops at the selfie stations of screams
  • Frank N. Stein’s LaBARatory: Find a cure for what “ales” you as you enjoy Dr. Frank’s mad science concoctions served in bubbling beakers and test tubes.
  • Mardi gRAVE: A block party of voodoo-inspired despair where a demonic DJ spins sick and twisted tunes and where everyone will dance till they drop … dead!
  • BARely Alive: Come have a drink and hang with the undead of HalloScream.

In addition, the park’s 5D Cinema will feature a 12-minute horror movie fest, consisting of 13 especially terrifying scenes from the “Friday the 13th” films.

Kentucky Kingdom will be open for HalloScream every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October, from 6 p.m. until midnight (closing time on Sunday is 11 p.m.).

Most of the park’s rides, including its signature roller coasters, will be open. Because of the time of year, all water attractions will be closed.

Ed Hart, President and CEO of Kentucky Kingdom, said:

“It’s been a long time since Kentucky Kingdom has been open to the public for a nighttime event. It’s a special experience to see the park lit up at night and especially to enjoy the coasters and other rides at night. Kentucky Kingdom has always been known for its thrills, but HalloScream will take those thrills to an entirely new level.”

The event is being produced by Oak Island Creative, which is based in Louisville.

“We are very excited about partnering with Oak Island Creative, a company that has developed award-winning themed events for nationally recognized clients,” Hart added.

“Their events have received many acknowledgments in USA Today, on Fox News, and in other major media outlets. What’s even more exciting is that Oak Island is a local company, headquartered in Louisville. They are dedicated to creating a Halloween event unlike anything Louisville has seen before and they’re certainly the people to do it.”

The HalloScream attractions are recommended for children ages 13 or older.
