With construction already underway, we had some idea what the next roller coaster coming to SeaWorld San Antonio would be: A wooden coaster. Today, the park confirmed the news on social media, but was sparse in many of their details.

In a social media post, Seaworld San Antonio mentioned that the park would be “reaching new heights in 2020.”
In the 33 second video that touts the park’s past roller coaster successes with Steel Eel, Great White, and Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster, Sea World announced that the roller coaster currently under construction (and still nameless) would be the tallest and fastest wooden coaster in the state of Texas.
And even more of the odd looking fishing pier they are building at @SeaWorldTexas! 🤔😉🤣 #FishWithACE @aceonlineorg @SeaWorld pic.twitter.com/8b8otmetev

It is speculated that the coaster will be built by Great Coasters International, and to obtain the superlatives of “Tallest” and “Fastest,” would have to surpass the 96′ of height and 51 mph top speed of the Boardwalk Bullet, a Martin & Vleminckx wooden coaster that has operated at the Kemah Boardwalk since 2007. (Currently there are only two other operating wooden coasters in Texas: Judge Roy Scream at Six Flags Over Texas – 71′ tall, 45mph, and Switchback at ZDT’s Amusement Park – 64′ tall and 41mph)
SeaWorld San Antonio joins fellow SeaWorld Parks in Orlando (TBD), San Diego (Mako), and Busch Gardens parks in Williamsburg (Pantheon) and Tampa (RMC Gwazi), as parks in the chain that are adding new roller coasters in 2020.
The park has promised more details will be coming in the near future.
Stay tuned!
