Coconut Shores: Three New Water Park Experiences Coming to Kings Dominion in 2020

Like several other Cedar Fair parks, Kings Dominion is also making waves in 2020 with three exciting additions to their water park.

The newly redesigned area, named Coconut Shores, provides the perfect place for families to cool down and have fun.

Kids of all ages can explore their way to the top of Lighthouse Landing, a 45-ft tall multi-level aqua play structure featuring hundreds of interactive elements for a splashtastic time. Lighthouse Landing will feature more than 200 interactive elements, 8 slides, and two giant tipping buckets.

The youngest park guests can find their own piece of paradise at Sand Dune Lagoon, a 3,000 square foot wave pool with playful 1-foot tall waves and interactive splash elements like coastal crabs and tropical turtles. The wave pool will be a maximum of 24” deep, perfect for young “water bugs.”

Kings Dominion also promises a yet-to-be-named new dining experience showcasing a variety of flavors designed by their executive chef that will bring families together for a relaxing meal. The cuisine will be inspired by Latin and Asian flavors, and also include menu items like flatbread pizzas.

Coconut Shores will replace Big Wave Bay, whose closure was announced earlier this year.
