Legoland Billund Opening Flying Eagle Coaster in 2018

Legoland Billund in Denmark will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018 with a new roller coaster and several other park enhancements.

The park’s western-themed Legoredo Town area will a significant expansion, which a new steel roller coaster.

The Flying Eagle (Den Flyvende Ørn) will take riders on an adventure through a mountain-themed landscape.

Little is known about the roller coaster and which company is manufacturing it, but we know it will stand roughly 36 feet tall, reaching a top speed of 28 mph along its 921-foot-long layout.

Flying Eagle will be Legoland Billund’s fourth roller coaster.

Nearby in the Legoredo Town area, the park’s Lego Canoe log flume will also receive an extensive refurbishment for the 2018 season.

The park’s entrance will also receive a massive, colorful overhaul including the addition of a large, red Lego dinosaur greeting guests as they enter the park. Nearly all of the buildings and storefronts in the entry area will receive new facades.
