Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth at SFDK Opening Date

In this weeks season passholder newsletter, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom announced their new giant pendulum will be opening to the public on May 28, 2017, the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Season pass holders will be able to ride the new attraction early, on May 26 and 27th. And for non-season pass holders, if you buy a Wonder Woman ride T-shirt on May 27th and you’ll be able to ride it that day (presumably with other people wearing the same shirt).

The ride is a “Giant Discovery” model pendulum rides made by Zamperla. It stands 147 feet high, and will swing riders back and forth while spinning them with their feet dangling. The ride swings through a 240 degree arc with a speed of up to 70 miles per hour, while carrying 40 riders. For Discovery Kingdom it adds another DC comic themed ride to their growing collection, all centered in the corner of the park featuring Joker and Superman: Ultimate Flight.

An amazing addition to the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom skyline, don't you agree? Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth opens … soon!

The park shared the construction video above to their Facebook page, recently, and has been sharing construction photos on Twitter.

Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth was recently topped of at Discovery Kingdom.

The rendering below shows how the ride fits nicely between the two DC roller coasters. More details on the ride can be found on the park website, although looks like they haven’t put up the opening date info yet. Let us know if you’re looking forward to the new thrill ride (and the nice new views of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) in the comments, and make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news on ride openings this Spring!
