Guest Blog: Mystic Timbers Construction Update

Our friend Justin from CPFoodBlog was lucky enough to get a tour of the Mystic Timbers construction site this week. He was gracious enough to share some photos of his with us. Mystic Timbers is nearly complete, and the plan is to open it with the rest of the park when Kings Island opens for the season on April 15.

Work continues on Mystic Timbers’ station.

The first drop looks amazing. GCI outdid themselves on this one!

Riders on Kings Island’s White Water Canyon raft ride will be able to get up close and personal with Mystic Timbers.

Few things better than fresh wood on a wooden coaster!

Still some track work to be done, and timbers to be laid.

Mystic Timbers is going to be a blast when Kings Island opens this spring! Looks like there will be plenty of terrain-hugging moments!

Another angle of the first drop.

Some quick facts:

  • Length: 3,265 feet
  • Max Height: 109 feet
  • Top Speed: 53 mph
  • Airtime Hills: 16
  • This will give Kings Island more than 18,000′ of wooden coaster track (combined with The Beast, The Racer and Woodstock Express), more than any other theme park in the world.

Thanks again to Justin at CPFoodBlog for these photos. Be sure to check him out on Facebook and Twitter, as well.

For more information about Mystic Timbers, be sure to visit Kings Island’s Website, and follow the park on Facebook and Twitter.
