Take a Ride on Cobra’s Curse at Busch Gardens Tampa

Cobra’s Curse is almost ready to strike at Busch Gardens Tampa. The park released an on-ride POV video today showcasing the new-for-2016 spinning roller coaster, which features a unique elevator lift.

According to the ride’s description, the Mack spinning coaster “unfolds in chapters.” Riders will face forward for the first section of the ride, will face backwards during the second section and will spin freely during the final segment.

The coaster stands 70 feet tall. Each of the 8-seat trains reach a top speed of 40 mph during the 2,100-foot-long course.

Beyond the ride experience, Cobra’s Curse will feature an air-conditioned queue line with interactive elements, live snake exhibits and projection mapping technology to tell the story of the “Snake King.”

The coaster will also feature “a second inclined lift that positions riders or the free-spin finale of the ride.”

While the track is obviously complete, the park still has a good bit of work to do before the coaster looks like this (which looks pretty incredible):

Cobra’s Curse is expected to open sometime this summer.
