Busch Gardens Williamsburg Animated InvadR POV

Busch Gardens Williamsburg today released an animated InvadR POV video which presents a detailed look at the park’s 2017 wooden roller coaster.

Watch the InvadR POV below:

While the Great Coasters International coaster won’t until next year, virtually riding the coaster will no doubt help hold fans over until then.

Along with the video, the park revealed that InvadR will have a taller drop than the originally announced 74 feet:

InvadR will feature steel supports, a wooden track and an 81-foot drop (higher than the originally estimated drop of 74 feet).

And it’s interesting that the coaster will have a steel support structure. But make no mistake, this is a bonafide classic wooden roller coaster, a refreshing change of pace in the trend of insane RMC coasters.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is touting InvadR as the world’s first “crowdsourced” roller coasters, allowing fans to “decide the ride,” such as its name. I’m interested to see what else the park has planned for fan involvement.
