Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Revisited December 2015

I last visited Dollywood for the park’s Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration during its opening weekend in early November. The weather was a mess: muggy and rainy with temperatures plunging. Fortunately, the crowds were manageable.

I returned to the park this weekend to find beautiful (but cold) weather and more crowds. Overall, the day was very enjoyable. I was worried the coasters’ operation window would be limited (with a high in the upper 40s), but they opened with the park and operated well into the evening after temperatures plummeted into the upper 30s. Kudos to Dollywood for keeping them open!

The crowds increased as the sun set, but the day overall was still fun (though my hands may have been partially frozen by the time we left).

See the photos from our day below:

Also, don’t miss our Lightning Rod construction update from the trip.

Dollywood is open on select dates through Jan. 3, 2016. For more information, visit their website.
