Incredible Hulk Coaster to Undergo Major Refurbishment Starting September 8

Universal Orlando Resort has been in a constant state of change and improvement for the last several years. This trend is continuing today with one of Islands of Adventure’s signature attractions.

In a a release on their official blog, Universal Orlando Resort announced today that the Incredible Hulk Coaster will close September 8, 2015 for “major enhancements and refurbishment.”

These changes will include “some great, new enhancements to its storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience.” The coaster is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2016.

According to Doug Boemler Wareing, Manager of Content Strategy and Development for Universal Orlando Resort, he has “been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at plans for The Incredible Hulk Coaster, and can tell you the overall experience is going to feel more immersive and high-tech, but “the attraction will still have the same ‘Incredible’ personality that makes it one of America’s most popular coasters.”

The Incredible Hulk Coaster opened with Islands of Adventure in 1999, and was the first “launched” roller coaster created by Bolliger and Mabillard.
