Cedar Point Guest Dies After Being Struck by Raptor

According to a statement from Cedar Point, a park guest was killed after being struck by the Raptor roller coaster around 5:00pm local time on Thursday, August 13. The guest was in a restricted area surrounded by a fence.

The guest was looking for a lost cell phone, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Cleveland’s WKYC Channel 3 is reporting that the victim is a man in his 40s, according to Erie County Coroner Dr. Brian Baxter.

This story is developing and will be updated when more information is available. Cedar Point police and the Sandusky Police Department are investigating.

Sandusky police plan on updating the media at 8:15 p.m, according to WKYC.

    I don’t understand how some people dont think the rules apply to them. The fence is there to keep you out as are the warning signs. Its not a joke. You will die. This guy unfortunately learned the hard way and his selfishness cost him his life. I feel sorry for anyone who was forced to witness this. They were looking to have fun and this guy and his phone ruined it. Why do you need a phone in a theme park? You don’t.

    Cedar Point said that they are postponing their announcement because of this incident. Does anyone know when the new announcement date is?
