Within just a few weeks it seems, the Batman: The Ride construction site at Six Flags Fiesta Texas transformed from a barren swath of dirt into the foundation for a 120-foot-tall “4D wing coaster,” Batman: The Ride.
As you can see, this “Batman” marks a significant departure from the Bolliger & Mabillard Batman: The Ride coasters you’ll find at many Six Flags parks.
The S&S “4D Free Spin” coaster features a 54-foot drop and a top speed of 38 mph during the 1,019-foot course.
Watch the video below to see final piece of track hoisted into place:
The vertical lift seen in the video and the photo below will carry riders to the coaster’s 12-story apex before leading into a series of camel-back hills:
With the track complete, hopefully testing will begin soon.
I’m really excited to hear what people think of this unique coaster, which is expected to debut “early summer 2015.”
What do you think of this 4D Batman: The Ride wing coaster? Discuss in the comments section below.
I just got back from SFMM and rode the Green Lantern. And I have to say, I did not like it. The biggest problem is that I am 6′ 2″ and the seats and over the shoulder bars would not accommodate my torso. Before we took-off, I felt crunched. Therefore, on each drop it forcefully jammed my crotch and tailbone into the between-the-legs saddle. Very painful!
I just see this Batman The Ride as another Green Lantern. So, if you are of average or small stature, you may enjoy it. Tall people, not so much!
Hi Karl. Check out this interview with Alan Schilke where he explains how the rotation on Batman the Ride will be different than Green Lantern and the other Zac Spins: https://youtu.be/Q7jzb5DYKqs?t=14m4s
Overall I think Batman will be a much better and more comfortable ride experience.
