Silver Dollar City Previews Fireman’s Landing
Yesterday, Silver Dollar City held a “First Fire Drill” preview for local schoolchildren to experience the park’s new Fireman’s Landing, an $8 million all-new fire-fighting-themed area featuring ten new family adventures.
Fireman’s Landing features six family rides and four interactive play zones.
The area’s theming has historical background — the 1880s town of Marmaros, once located on the site of Silver Dollar City, was burned to the ground by a blaze over a century ago.
The area’s flagship attraction is FireFall, an 80-foot-tall S&S Double Shot tower taken from the Silver Dollar City’s former sister park, Celebration City.
The kids at the preview got a group photo with Fireman’s Landing’s “official chief rescue dog,” Lucky, seen above.
The fire-extinguishing area replaces Geyser Gulch, which opened in 1997 and featured interactive play structures such as Firefighter’s Fire Drill pictured above.
