Thunderbird Track Completed at Holiday World

Holiday World’s new-for-2015 Thunderbird wing coaster is complete.

Yesterday, the final piece of the 3,035-foot-long track was put into place.

“Thunderbird track piece #77, ready to fly,” the park revealed in a Facebook post.

The piece placed appears to be the section of track between the coaster’s finale inline twist and brake run.

Crews carefully aligned the piece of track, ending vertical construction of the world’s first launched B&M wing coaster.

I can’t wait to learn about the additional surprises the park has in store for Thunderbird riders and the coaster’s plaza.

Thunderbird is expected to open in April of next year. With the track complete, hopefully we’ll see testing begin in early spring following completion of electric work.
