Although technically an “unofficial” holiday, August 16th has become known as National Roller Coaster Day among coaster enthusiasts, and while I’m not sure who designated this date as a celebration of roller coasters, I fully support any excuse to spend a day at a park.
To celebrate the coaster holiday, we’re asking you to share your National Roller Coaster Day plans, photos or in-park updates with us on Facebook or Twitter (be sure to include @Coaster101 on your tweets). Show us how you’re spending National Roller Coaster Day, and we’ll randomly select one person to receive a Coaster101 Prize Pack.
You can also enter by simply leaving a comment below sharing your National Roller Coaster Day plans, memories or just tell us your favorite roller coaster.
Happy roller coasting out there today, coaster enthusiasts. This is your day!
Sadly I’m not able to celebrate rollercoaster day, but my Favorite ride is maverick at cedar point :3
Sadly I’m at work today. We need to make this a recognized holiday!! Thinking of all of the roller coasters I could be riding at Six Flags Great America today though.
August 16 is my Birthday and I celebrated it at Six Flags Great America where they have signs everywhere wishing you a Happy Roller Coaster Day!
