This week’s A-Z Coaster takes us to Vortex at Kings Island.
The 3,800-foot-long Arrow looper opened in 1987. Standing 148 feet tall, Vortex drops riders 138 feet at speeds of 55 mph before sending them through six inversions: two vertical loops, a double corkscrew and a double-inversion batwing element.
In fact, Vortex was the first roller coaster to turn riders upside down six times.
Last June, Vortex reached a new milestone when the coaster gave its 40 millionth ride.
According to Kings Island, the only attractions at the park to give more rides are the Racer, Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad, Beast, Woodstock Express and Race for Your Life Charlie Brown.
With so many of these classic Arrow coasters closing for good, hopefully Kings Island will keep Vortex for many years to come.

I love the Vortex at Kings Island! It is my favorite roller coaster ever!
I used to be recommended this website through my cousin. I’m now not positive whether this
post is written via him as no one else realize such exact approximately my difficulty.
You’re wonderful! Thank you!
