Open the floodgates—here comes the deluge of Marvel attractions at Disney theme parks.
Hong Kong Disneyland has announced that Iron Man Experience, the very first Disney attraction based off a Marvel character, will open in 2016.
The attraction will be located in a section of Tomorrowland themed around the iconic Stark Expo from Marvel’s Ironman universe.
Tom Staggs, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, described the Iron Man Experience attraction experience:
“Upon entering the ride vehicle our guests will be able to take flight with Iron Man on an epic adventure that not surprisingly pits Iron Man, and our guests, against the forces of evil. This adventure will take place in the streets and skies of Hong Kong, which will make an even more unique and special experience for our Hong Kong Disneyland guests. In addition, guests will be able to meet and take photos with Iron Man.”
Disney purchased Marvel for $4 billion in 2009. Expect more Marvel attractions to pop up at Disney parks across the globe.
