The “Nippon Moon” giant wheel may someday dominate the skies of Japan as the world’s tallest ferris wheel. Although the exact location and funding of the wheel are not secured, beautiful renderings of the monster wheel have spread across the internet.
Developers have not revealed the specific height of the wheel, but it would likely dwarf iconic wheels such as the London Eye (443 feet) and the Singapore Flyer (541 feet). Some reports claim the wheel might exceed 800 feet in height.
The wheel’s 32 pods (some two stories) will offer unobstructed views during the wheel’s 40-minute rotation.
Everything about the Nippon Moon wheel will be technologically advanced. The wheel will feature integrated smart phone and tablet connectivity inside each pod. Pods will have separate “themes” that coincide with the app’s functionality.
Understandably, an attraction like this would likely draw huge crowds. Luckily, developers have created an online ticketing system that assigns riders with a specific boarding time, preventing them from waiting in long lines.

Not sure how long it would take for this proposed record shattering Ferris-wheel attraction to be built… but could picture it possibly being built in Tokyo. Last Saturday (September 7, 2013), the IOC announced Tokyo as the host city of the 2020 Summer Olympics… the Japanese capitol city beating out Istanbul, Turkey and Madrid, Spain to host iconic sporting event.
