Lost Parks of Northern California: Luna Park

Calling all history fanatics: the Northern California Region of American Coaster Enthusiasts is back with the second installment in the Lost Parks of Northern California documentary series that covers the 12 lost amusement parks of the northern California region.

This episode covers San Jose’s Luna Park, a little-known park that operated from 1910 to around 1921. The park featured a scenic railway with a top speed of 25 mph, quite exciting for a scenic railway.

I am really enjoying this series. Kudos to Kris Rowberry of Great American Thrills and everyone else involved with this series. As seen in the video, digging up information on these long gone parks is not easy.

We’ll let you know when the next installment is released.
