Worlds of Fun Opens Expanded Waterpark

It’s two parks for one price at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. Worlds of Fun is celebrating its 40th anniversary by opening a renovated and expanded Oceans of Fun waterpark. This makeover involves combining both Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun parks into a single admission ticket and the addition of six new slides.

A press release from the park details the new additions to Oceans of Fun:

“The six new slides that nearly double the park’s waterslide capacity are housed on a 65-foot-tall complex overlooking Surf City Wave Pool. At the peak stands Predators’ Plunge, where guests climb into one of three Aqua-Launch chambers with a floor that suddenly drops out to a high-speed near-vertical drop and a series of loops and s-curves in a translucent flume. Known as Constrictor, the fourth slide features double tubes spiraling down an enclosed slide with four 360-degree tight turns. Sharks’ Revenge, two other enclosed tube slides, feature high speed drops and banks.”

Slides aren’t the only part of the new Oceans of Fun:

“Other new additions at the waterpark include renovated pool areas, new retail locations, and guest amenities such as new cabanas and more lounge chairs. New food offerings are highlighted by the addition of Chickie’s & Pete’s, which has been recognized by ESPN as ‘Best Sports Bar in North America’.”

“Now with both parks for the price of one, every guest will have access to 235-acres of rides, slides, shows, and attractions, complete with the massive waterpark expansion.”
