Alton Tower’s record-breaking Smiler coaster is nearing completion, and we’re beginning to see video of the coaster in action.
The video below taken from the midway shows the 16-person Smiler trains maneuvering through the 3,840-feet of track and 14 inversions.
Local weather correspondent Laura Tobin was able to ride The Smiler for herself. Watch her reaction to the ride below:
Note: if you’re counting inversions, you may not count 14 as at least one inversion takes place indoors which was not shown in the video.
The coaster is scheduled to open May 23, 2013.
