Hersheypark has yet to announce plans for the 2013 season, but Roller Soaker’s removal should open up prime real estate in the Boardwalk waterpark area.

The 1,300-foot-long coaster opened in 2002 and features 9 4-seat cars equipped with 16 gallons of water that can be dumped on spectators below. Spectators and guests waiting in line can also blast water at riders. I thought it fit perfectly in the waterpark area of Hersheypark, so it will be interesting to see what replaces it.

Roller Soaker is the only remaining SetPoint water coaster. Carowinds’ Flying Super Saturator closed in 2008.
