Happy Birthday to us! Seven years ago on this date I launched a small Freewebs-hosted website titled “Coaster101.” Little did I know that it would not only last seven years, but would also grow and develop into an established website that continues to deliver unique amusement industry-related content to a growing reader base.
I think it’s also worth noting that we now share the same birthday as the newly-reopened Disney California Adventure including Cars Land and Buena Vista Street! What a birthday it is to share!
We have had a great year at Coaster101, which I think is shown by the fact that we greatly surpassed our monthly view count record in May. We were also represented at special events for new coaster openings this year such as Skyrush, X-Flight and Leviathan. We interviewed a selection of amusement industry veterans and experts such as Dan Guy, Andreas Wild, and the Coaster Critic. The list goes on and on.
I’d like to give a special shout out to the Coaster101 team: my right hand man Nick Weisenberger, and our two newcomers to the team this year: Amy Gleeson and Ashley Carver. This group works tirelessly to bring you all of this great content. I couldn’t do it without them.
We have a number of exciting plans up our sleeve for the upcoming year. Stay tuned, and for now, here’s to seven more successful years!
