Dorney Park 2012 coaster: Stinger

Dorney Park announced today that Stinger, the coaster formerly known as Invertigo at California’s Great America, will open at the park in 2012. The Vekoma inverted boomerang coaster is described on the park’s website as follows:

“Feel your heart pump with adrenaline after experiencing this scorpion’s sting! Sit back and find yourself dangling from the scorpion tail seated face-to-face with your friends as you each sit witness to the others terror. You’ll scream your face off as you are lifted up a 138-foot lift hill and then released to soar at speeds reaching 55 miles per hour through three inversions both forward and then backward.”

Stinger is the second relocated coaster that Dorney Park has received in the last decade. In 2008, the park received Possessed, a relocated Intamin impulse coaster from the now-defunct Geauga Lake amusement park.
