Christmas Events: Universal Studios Grinchmas

We continue our series of Christmas-in-the-Park events with “Grinchmas” which can be found at both Universal Studios Islands of Adventures and Universal Studios Hollywood.

New this year at Islands of Adventure’s Grinchmas event is a larger production of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” which features “music recorded by the world famous Mannheim Steamroller. This heartwarming performance has been newly relocated to Soundstage 20…it’s a bigger production than ever, sure to leave you with an even bigger smile! Afterwards, you can stroll around the Wonky Tree Lot, marvel at the lights and decorations, and get your photo taken with The Grinch™ himself! It’s a holiday celebration of Seussian proportions!”

Little ones will get a kick out of the Holiday Breakfast with Grinch and Friends. Click here for booking information.

The Universal Studios Hollywood version of Grinchmas features an interactive playground with real snow, as well as the Whoville Celebration where popular Grinch characters make appearances in the studio backlot. Unique to the Universal Studios Hollywood Grinchmas is Celebrity Readings where celebrities stop by the park to read Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy events at USH’s Grinchmas is the tree lighting. Guests can “gather around for the lighting ceremony of our spectacular 60-foot tree that casts the magic of the holiday season over Whoville.”

Grinchmas now runs daily through January 1, 2011 at Islands of Adventure and January 2, 2011 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
