This question is for the readers… or perhaps a doctor. I love Superman: Ultimate Flight… until the pretzel loop. Having been on both the Great America and Georgia coasters multiple times over the past few years, I think it has something to do with me. At the top of the pretzel loop, I always get a Charley Horse in my leg. That muscle spasm lasts for the duration of the ride so I’m unfortunately not able to enjoy it as much as I would if I were free of pain.
This is a random question, but has anyone else ever experienced this? Since I first rode Superman: Ultimate Flight and fell victim to the annoying problem, I’ve tried to increase my potassium intake before a trip to ride Superman, thinking that would prevent my muscles from cramping, but I’ve not been successful in preventing the painful spasms. If you’ve ever run into a problem similar to mine, do you have any tips on how to prevent it from happening? I’m riding Manta in the summer – I’m hoping I’ll be able to ride it pain free!
I’ve never been on Superman: Ultimate Flight, but I have the same problem on Alpengeist on the Cobra Roll…
I’ve never had that problem, the pretzel loop is one of my favorite things ever!
Yes! This happens to me every time I was wondering if anyone else experienced this because no one around me ever seems to complain. It must have something to do with us :s
Dude this is my main concern on cramped -semi cramped coasters . I will drink tons of water and eat 2 bananas and a vitamin for potassium and one of the small pickle juice shots you can get from the store, the morning of my coaster day and i can usually get away with none BUT you mentioned Manta…. That one no matter what the fuck I do that is one coaster that never fails to give me a spasm because of how your basically loading all of your body weight onto your leg and calf as the ride tilts flat, I don’t even ride it anymore because of that. It’s not even that fun of a ride especially when you sit for what seems like 5 mins in pain before you move slowly back up to the staging area to get off. 😒
