In the past week or so we have seen three parks announce Planet Snoopy additions: Canada’s Wonderland, Kings Dominion, and California’s Great America. In all three of these cases, these “Snoopy Planets” will be replacing either Nickelodeon areas, Hanna-Barbera areas or, in some cases, both. While I’m sure the Nickelodeon licensing fee is considerably higher than the Peanuts licensing fee… you’ve gotta wonder which one is more appealing to the kids. Now I don’t watch alot of TV, but if I had to take a guess as to which kids would be more likely to watch, a Snoopy episode versus a Spongebob episode, it’d be Spongebob. However both Snoopy and Nickelodeon are recognizable so in the long run that’s all that matters.
Planet Snoopy takes over the world.
