Incredible Renderings of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Amazing new animated renderings of the under-construction Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi were released today, giving us a first look at yet another theme park sprouting in the United Arab Emirates.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

The indoor theme park will span 1.65 million square feet and will feature 29 rides, shows and attractions.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi will contain six themed lands:

  1. Metropolis (Superman)
  2. Gotham City (Batman)
  3. Cartoon Junction
  4. Bedrock
  5. Dynamite Gulch
  6. Warner Bros. Plaza

According to a release from the park’s creator, Miral Asset Management, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi “will be a one-of-a-kind, world-class destination home to state-of-the-art thrill rides, interactive family friendly attractions and unique live entertainment.”

From the action and adventure of DC to the wacky and wonderful world of Looney Tunes, this immersive and interactive new indoor experience brings some of the world’s most popular stories and characters under one roof.

Let’s take a closer look at those six themed areas:

Warner Bros. Plaza

Guests will be swept away in Hollywood-style when they enter Warner Bros. Plaza, a celebration of all that is the Golden Age of Hollywood. Upon entering the park through the Warner Bros. Shield archway, guests will be transported to Hollywood where Art Deco architecture lines the streets and authentic, Tinseltown details evoke the rich history of Warner Bros.

Gotham City and Metropolis

“For the first time in the Middle East, Super Hero fans will be able to stroll the streets of Superman’s Metropolis, a modern-styled city of towering skyscrapers…

…and prowl the dark alleys of Batman’s Gotham City in this larger-than-life land where heroic exploits and action-packed family fun wait around every corner.”

Cartoon Junction

Next, the colorful Cartoon Junction section will unite Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo and other well-known animated characters under a “stylized cartoon sky that will immerse guests in the wonderful world of animation.”

Bedrock

The Flinstones-inspired Bedock area will be a “prehistoric world powered by birds and dinosaurs, where the modern stone-age family can have a ‘yabba dabba doo’ time.”

Dynamite Gulch

Finally, the whimsical, Looney Tunes-inspired Dynamite Gulch will take guests from “the stars and deep into the canyon.”

An official list of rides and attractions hasn’t yet been released, but I counted at least one roller coaster — seen above in the “Dynamite Gulch” section of the park.

According to Miral CEO Mohamed Abdullah Al Zaabi, construction is progressing as planned and is 60 percent complete.

Below, see a brief construction time-lapse video of the building that will house the park:

The indoor theme park is scheduled to open in 2018 will be located on the manmade Yas Island development, joining Ferrari World and SeaWorld, the latter of which will open in 2022.

Plans for the theme park first surfaced in 2007 but were delayed following the 2008 financial crisis.
