Two New Coasters Opening at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in 2017

In an increasingly competitive United Arab Emirates theme park and resort market, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is upping the ante by building two new roller coasters in 2017. Keep reading to learn more about Turbo Track and Mission Ferrari.

Turbo Track

Scheduled to open late March of 2017, Turbo Track is a launched Intamin shuttle coaster. Accelerating to a top speed of 63 mph, Turbo Track’s train will spiral up 203-foot-tall spike, emerging from the theme park’s iconic roof, before completing the course in reverse:

Riders won’t have much time to admire the view, but the track sticking out of the building is certainly a stunning sight to see.

It appears that riders will be treated to a small hill post-launch before entering the twisted spike.

Turbo Track will likely fall into the “short but sweet” category of Intamin coasters.

Mission Ferrari

Opening later in 2017 is Mission Ferrari, one of the most unique coasters I’ve seen in quite some time. The coaster was designed by Dynamic Attractions, a company with only two yet very well know coasters in its portfolio: Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the 2005 retracked Space Mountain.

The coaster’s six cars will seat nine riders in three rows of three. The coaster will include a plethora of unique elements and features, including a drop track, tilt track, inversions, an outdoor section and two 3D movie segments.

Turbo Track and Mission Ferrari will be the park’s fourth and fifth roller coasters. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opened in 2010. Learn more about the theme park at its website.
