Super Nintendo World Announced for Universal Studios Japan

Recently, Universal provided more details about their partnership with Nintendo, and Nintendo appearing in their parks. In a tweet early Monday morning, Nintendo made the first of three announcements of a Nintendo land coming to a Universal park.

The first park to receive a Nintendo themed land will be Universal Studios Japan. The new area will be called Super Nintendo World, and according to the following tweet from Universal Studios Japan will open before the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Loose Google Translation: 【Nintendo’s theme area was born in the world for the first time in the world】 Nintendo characters popular in the world gathered together. A huge complex area “SUPER NINTENDO WORLD ™” that reproduces that world with thorough commitment is scheduled to open before the Tokyo Olympic Games are held!

The concept artwork features several Nintendo staples, including Princess Peach’s Castle, Bowser’s Castle, Several Yoshis, and the ever present Mushrooms.
