Blackpool Pleasure Beach Launched Steel Coaster in 2018

Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England has released stunning animation of its unnamed Mack steel launched roller coaster, which will open in 2018.

Watch the animation below:

The unnamed coaster, currently referred to as “Construction 2018,” will be the United Kingdom’s first dual-launched roller coaster. It’s one of three Mack Rides’ custom launched coasters opening within the next two years.

It will stand just under 89 feet tall with an 82-foot drop. Along with its two launches, the coaster will feature two inversions: an Immelmann loop following the second launch and an inline twist.

The four-car, 16-seat train will reach a top speed of roughly 50 mph while navigating the 3,740 feet of track.

Similar to other rides at the landlocked Blackpool Pleasure Beach, “Construction 2018” will interact with five other rides at the park, including the iconic Big One, Steeplechase and Big Dipper roller coasters, as well as Pleasure Beach Express and the Grand Prix.

The coaster will cost more than $21 million and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2018.

“Construction 2018 follows in the long tradition we have at Blackpool Pleasure Beach of investing in fantastic rides and bringing first of their kind rollercoasters to the UK,” said Blackpool Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson.

“I’m delighted to be able to continue this tradition and bring such a thrilling ride to the UK.”
