Canada’s Wonderland Adding Muskoka Plunge and Soaring Timbers in 2017
Not to be outdone by the rest of the chain, Canada’s Wonderland, Cedar Fair’s lone Canadian Property, made the announcement today that they will be adding two new attractions for 2017; Muskoka Plunge and Soaring Timbers.
Similar to Knott’s Soak City and Cedar Point Shores, Canada’s Wonderland will be adding a 60′ tall slide tower to their water park. Muskoka Plunge, named for a municipality in Ontario nearly 2 hours north of Canada’s Wonderland, will feature four “drop slides” that send riders through s-curves and 360° loops at speeds of approximately 40 km/h (nearly 25mph for those of us not on the metric system)
Unlike the new towers at Soak City and Cedar Point shores, the new slide complex at Canada’s Wonderland will not feature the additional two tube slides.
Canada’s Wonderland will also be adding to their already impressive flat ride line up with the addition of a Mondial Inferno called Soaring Timbers. According to Canada’s Wonderland, this unique ride experience will send guests spiraling through the sky on two massive rotating gondolas that swing riders through sweeping arcs while rotating 360 degrees.
Looking at the below video, it looks like Canada’s Wonderland has a winner on their hands with Soaring Timbers. (h/t to coasterchitchat.com for knowing the ride model)
With this announcement, all 11 major Cedar Fair theme parks have now made announcements for 2017. Want to know what the Coaster101 team thinks about all of the announcements? Be sure to check out our thoughts by clicking the link here.

Excited! Planning on buying our Canada’s Wonderland 2017 season passes this week….will get bonus 2016 admission for free, and looking forward to next year’s season with those 2 new ride announcements!
Muskoka plunge is dangerous both of my kids teenagers suffocated and inhaled water all the way down this ride. One of them injured their back and ankle as well as feeling like they were drowning.
This ride basically felt like drowning
The Muskoka Plunge was an interesting new form of torture.
A 60′ long, high speed, truly fear-inducing spectacle.
10/10 would drown again.
