Dorney Park today announced two new family rides and numerous park enhancements for the 2017 season.
Two Family Flat Rides
Dorney Park will open a spinning flat ride and bumper cars next season:
Kaleidoscope is a HUSS Troika flat ride model that will feature “three arms of seven gondolas moving counterclockwise against the ride’s main clockwise direction.”
In addition to Kaleidoscope, Dorney Park will reintroduce the classic bumper cars ride to the park with “Dodgem.”
In 2010, the park removed its “Krazy Kars” bumper car ride to make room for Demon Drop (which came from Cedar Point).
“We are particularly excited to announce the return of bumper cars, as our guests have been asking for this particular addition,” said Mike Fehnel, Dorney Park’s vice president and general manager.
Parkside Pavilion & Cirque Imagine
To lure group outings and corporate events, the park is also adding “Parkside Pavilion,” an enhancement of its group facilities that will be able to seat over 2,000 guests in total.

Parkside Pavilion will also contain a chef’s kitchen offering new food options.
Meanwhile, the new Cirque Imagine show will feature acts including Trampolines, Cyr wheel, Aerialists, Hand Balancing and Bikes. Watch a teaser for the show below:
Wildwater Kingdom
Over at the park’s Wildwater Kingdom water park, guests will find 17 new cabanas, which brings the total number of cabanas available for rent to 29. The will also introduce the Sunset Beach Bar, which will offer a full-service bar.

ahh yes… Dorney is again the red-headed step child in the Cedar Fair Family. Another carnival ride and some bumper cars WOW. When are they going to give us a new world class coaster? Or even maybe a re-designed train for Steel Force? How about a VR conversion on something existing? Meanwhile, just a short drive away in Jackson, NJ they have ANOTHER major announcement scheduled for September 1st after just installing a world class coaster this year and, adding VR to Skull Mountain. And don’t even get me started on all the improvements and great additions Hershey ( which is only an hour west).
Their competition is kicking their butts and they really don’t seem to care.
