Chocolate Factory and Restaurant to Replace NBA City at Universal Orlando’s Citywalk

After the success of new restaurant concepts including Antojitos, Hot Dog Hall of Fame, and NBC Sports Grill & Brew, Universal Orlando Resort has announced their next restaurant concept, The Toothsome Chocolate Factory & Savory Feast Emporium.

The restaurant will be located on the site of the former NBA City Restaurant, which closed in 2015. Set to open later this year, The Toothsome Chocolate Factory will be a full-service restaurant that brings together a specially created and expansive menu plus an incredible array of gourmet-level chocolates and desserts – all in a highly themed, unique environment that can only be found at Universal CityWalk.

The theme for the new restaurant is a 19th century-inspired, Steampunk-era chocolate factory, complete with towering smokestacks and tanks, piping and other equipment for chocolate production. Inside, a mix of brass, dark wood and gadgetry – along with staff who will look and act the part – will complete the Steampunk feel.

The menu will feature a wide variety items, from all-day-brunch crepes and quiches to Universal’s own unique takes on classic steak, seafood and pasta entrees, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, salands and more.

And it is a chocolate factory, after all. According to the press release from Universal Orlando, the desserts look like they will take center stage. The sundaes include S’mores – with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, marshmallow cream, graham crackers and more – Salted Caramel Flan, and Chocolate Brownie Bark.  Additionally, Toothsome will boast an impressive artisan milkshake collection will include shakes with names such as Chocolate x5Bacon Brittle, Espresso Buzzzz, Red Velvet and Key Lime Pie.

Guests will also be able to watch chocolate creations being prepared – and take home samples purchased in the restaurant’s retail shop.

The Toothsome Chocolate Factory & Savory Feast Emporium is the ninth new concept to debut at Universal Orlando Citywalk in the last two years.
