New Glimpse at RollerCoaster Tycoon World

The roller coaster simulation games are heating up! After RollerCoaster Tycoon 3’s 2004 release, fans of the “coaster tycoon” games have endured a quiet decade. But the end of that drought is near.

Last week’s E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) gave game-lovers of all genres previews of upcoming games, including Frontier’s just-announced Planet Coaster. Atari was also on-hand to show off a number of games, and of course RollerCoaster Tycoon World (RCTW) was one of them.

Following the expo, a new RCTW production blog posted today gave us a new glimpse at what the game will look like on your computer screen:

In the blog, RCTW executive producer “Mattlab” wrote about the progress the developers are making on the game:

“The development team is hard at work polishing our newly integrated milestone. This game is big and we have a lot to do over the next few months which is why we have an incredible (and large) team working on it.”

The screenshot previewed offers only only the infrastructure and setting of a RCTW park:

“To start, we wanted to share a view down a path in a park a member of our team made. The focus of this first shot is scenery and environment. Before we reveal the rides (and more) we wanted to start with the basics – the ground floor of your park, if you will.”

RollerCoaster Tycoon World is expected to be released later this year.
