World’s Longest Waterslide Coming to Action Park

Action Park in Vernon, N.J., will soon be home to the world’s longest waterslide at 2,000 feet.

However, the record-breaking inflatable waterslide already exists — in New Zealand (pictured above). It will be moved from its current home in Auckland, New Zealand, to the New Jersey park this summer.

Hugging Action Park’s ski trails, the terrain waterslide will be unlike your typical waterpark attraction, which meant it was a perfect fit for Action Park, which features more than 30 “epic rides, slides and attractions, including the one-of-a-kind Cliff Jumps, Tarzan Swings and Colorado Rapids River Ride. Last Summer Action Park opened the world’s tallest and only double-looping Drop Box Waterslide.”

The video below highlights some of Action Park’s other not-standard waterpark attractions:

“This waterslide screams ‘Action Park’ and we knew our resort would be the perfect home for it,” said President of Mountain Creek/Action Park Bill Benneyan. “What’s more wild and crazy than flying nearly half a mile down a ski mountain on the world’s longest waterslide?”

The record-length waterslide will be featured in tomorrow’s season premier of Travel Channel’s “Xtreme Waterparks.” The “Xtreme Waterparks: Building the World’s Longest” episode will air tomorrow, Sunday, June 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will document the story of how the waterslide came to be in its original home. Another episode airing later this summer will follow the slide in its move to Action Park. See a preview of the waterslide’s “Xtreme Waterparks” episode here.

The slide is expected to begin the testing phase in July.
