In the various webhost transfers, transitions and transformations Coaster101 has undergone over the years, we’ve lost bits and pieces of our old content. However, we’ve done our best to make sure the most popular pieces and features were saved. Below, we’ve highlighted a few of our most popular posts from the early years, 2005 through 2007:
The website started as a Freewebs (now Webs.com) website on June 15, 2005. One of our first special features was an interview with Chad Miller of The Gravity Group. All eyes were on the company, as it had recently launched Hades at Mount Olympus and was beginning to build The Voyage at Holiday World.
In our inaugural summer season, we also made the first of what would become many visits to Six Flags Great America.
We also had an unexpected behind-the-scenes tour of the brand new Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom after the coaster experienced an emergency stop (or e-stop).
We had our first reader-contributed photos posted in 2006, illustrating Goliath, the shiny new B&M hyper coaster at Six Flags over Georgia.
In 2007, I reviewed my first ride on Sheikra, a coaster that has become one of my all-time favorites.
