Video of Lagoon’s Cannibal Testing

Lagoon’s Cannibal may be one of the most mysterious roller coasters to open in many years.

When most parks announce nearly every detail and promote every aspect of a new ride, it’s been shocking (and refreshing) to see Lagoon do almost the exact opposite. They’ve kept us in the dark, or at least the twilight.

But only so much can be shrouded in secrecy when you’re building a mammoth roller coaster that includes a 20-story enclosed lift hill.

And as the 2015 operating season nears, so does the moment when Cannibal is unleashed to the public.

So with anticipation building, the park shared the below video shot from the air of the coaster testing. See for yourself:

The train lurches down the 116-degree beyond-vertical drop and through the coaster’s five inversions, reaching a top speed of 70 mph.

The video below, shot from the ground, provides another angle of the coaster testing.

Lagoon hasn’t revealed exactly when Cannibal will open, but with the coaster testing, hopefully it won’t be long.
