Today, RollerCoaster Tycoon World game developers unveiled the upcoming game’s Steam page before releasing a new trailer for the much-anticipated new installment in the RollerCoaster Tycoon (RCT) franchise.
But, unfortunately, the short preview video did not receive a glowing response from the RCT community.
Watch the new trailer for yourself below:

To summarize the general consensus, many are disappointed (offended?) by the graphics shown in the video. Below, I’ve highlighted a selection of reactions I’ve come across today.
“Anything with a straight line is jagged with poor anti-aliasing, textures are simple, destruction physics are rudimentary, motion blur is heavy and the framerate dips are noticeable. In the first ever reveal of a new game in a respected franchise, no less.” – GameSided
“RollerCoaster Tycoon World looks rough.” – Destructoid
“RollerCoaster Tycoon World’s Gameplay Trailer is Tragically Bad” – Crave Online
“The mutant customers, the low resolution textures – it all looks about a decade out of date. Presentation isn’t everything, but this just looks a bit shoddy.” – PCGamesN
But rest assured, you’ll still be able to destroy your creations, as seen in the shot above.
The visuals showcased in the trailer seem drastically different from the ones that were released on Facebook in September of last year:
According to the Steam page game description, RCT World:
RCTW is packed with all the fun-filled features fans know and love, plus brand-new innovations including an intuitive 3D track builder, deformable terrain, realistic coaster physics, and the ability to share your park creations. Players can also team-up with friends from around the globe to form a theme park company and compete with others worldwide. Experience the ride of your life as you customize incredible coasters, entertain your park guests, create stomach-churning corkscrews and become the world’s next RollerCoaster Tycoon!

According to the game’s Steam page, the game will be released in “mid 2015.”

Which would you rather play?
I hope the game improves between now and its release, even if that means delaying the release.

I don’t think that looks really appealing. I prefer the classic RCT or RCT2. After the third edition, the graphics and other features just got weird.
