Carowinds To Auction First Rides on Fury 325 for Charity

A swarm will descend upon the Carolinas this spring as Carowinds unleashes Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster. Heralded as the largest, single investment in the history of Carowinds, Fury 325 will embody the fierce attributes of a hornet, boldly transforming the park’s skyline and front entrance.

Carowinds is giving riders a chance to be one of the original “fury-ous” riders on this world record-breaking coaster, while giving back to the local Charlotte community. We are auctioning off seats on the first three trains (96 total seats). All proceeds will be donated to the Cam Newtown Foundation.

Founded by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, the foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of young people by addressing their socioeconomic, educational, physical and emotional needs. The overarching CNFtheme is “Every 1 Matters.” Through specific focus areas (“Every 1 Gives”, “Every 1 Learns”, and “Every 1 Plays”), the Foundation focuses on the need for community programs and underscores the importance of making education a priority. The Cam Newton Foundation also recognizes physical fitness and health as a vital element in comprehensive youth development and its relationship to leading a well-rounded and fulfilling life.

“I’ve battled some beasts on the field like massive 300-pound linemen, but this roller coaster is somewhat intimidating,” Newton said jokingly. “On a more serious note, I love that Carowinds will take something that’s going to be one of the best parts of summer and use it to help kids get a good education and be physically fit.”

The first public rides will take place during Carowinds’ private media event on Wednesday, March 25*

Each auction winner will receive the following:

Invitation to the private media opening for Fury 325 for one (1) person on Wednesday, March 25, 2015* to ride in the seat you bid on.
Two (2) Regular Single Day admission tickets valid any public operating day of the 2015 season.
One (1) Large Fury 325 First Rider Charity Auction T-shirt.
One (1) Fury 325 First Rider Auction Hat.

Winners in the first row of each train will also receive:

One (1) Autographed football by Cam Newton.
