Theme Park Proposed for Northern France

A new “Heroic Land” theme park proposed for northern France, southeast of Calais, would comprise 76 acres and include themed lands and attractions.

According to officials, Heroic Land developers are aiming to attract 1.5 million visitors each year. Areas of the park would be themed to sea life, fantasy, science fiction, adventure and more.

The theme park is tentatively scheduled to open in 2018, but an investment of 350 million euros is needed to fund the project. Developers are seeking investors.

The renderings suggest a highly-themed experience with attractions for all ages. Below, I’ve singled out a couple of the coasters illustrated in the drawings:

At first glance this coaster reminded me of the Premier “Backlot Stunt” coasters found at Kings Island, Kings Dominion and Canada’s Wonderland.

Another one of the coasters appears to be a sci-fi-themed Intamin Wing Rider (think Furius Baco at Port Aventura).

This appears to be an adventure-themed spinning coaster.

But the park will feature other attractions, such as a Radiator Springs-style car ride:

And it appears the boat ride below will take riders face to face with a T-rex dinosaur.

The renderings are impressive. Hopefully investors will help bring this proposal to life.
