Legoland Bringing More Star Wars to California

In 2015, Legoland California will expand the park’s Star Wars Miniland section — perfect timing with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film due out in December. Included in that expansion, a model of the iconic, notorious Death Star ship.

The Star Wars Miniland, originally opened in 2011, already offers guests a Lego-enhanced look at the sci-fi world:

Guests can enjoy seven of the most famous scenes from the six live-action Star Wars movies, as well as a scene from the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars all made out of 1.5 million Lego bricks built in 1:20 scale.

Other new Star Wars displays will include a rebel X-wing fighter pilot, an imperial star ship pilot, as well as a reenactment of “Luke Skywalker’s” do-or-die flight along the trench of the massive base from the original film.

But the Death Star isn’t the only new attraction landing at Legoland California in 2015. Also debuting is Heartlake City, a new area tied to the popular Lego toy, Friends, will feature Legoland’s first carousel.

Heartlake City will be located in the Duplo Village section of the park, which caters to young children.
