Thunderbird Continues to Hatch at Holiday World

The off season has begun, but luckily parks like Holiday World are keeping us in the coaster spirit by sharing amazing photographs of their new-for-2015 coasters under construction.

Holiday World’s Thunderbird — B&M’s first launched wing coaster — is already well on its way toward completion. And the park is doing an excellent job at keeping us updated on social media.

As you can see in the above photo posted on the park’s Facebook page, the coaster’s vertical loop and Immelmann inversion are complete. Work has already begun on the next element: an overbanked elevated spiral.

The heavily themed area around Thunderbird, an extension of the park’s Thanksgiving area, is also starting to take shape.

The park is also keeping us in the loop via construction videos. Watch the latest “Hard Hat Chronicle” below for an extended behind-the-scenes look at Thunderbird:

Be sure to visit the park’s Facebook page to follow along with the latest Thunderbird construction. And don’t forget you can watch construction live via the park’s webcams.

Thunderbird is expected to open on April 25, 2015. What are your thoughts on the world’s first launched B&M wing coaster? Discuss in the comments section below.
