It’s no secret that Carowinds is planning something for the 2015 season. After all, Cedar Fair announced in 2013 that it would be investing $50 million in the park over a three-year time span.

A big chunk of that $50 million investment will likely go towards the 2015 project, which the park began teasing earlier this month. And now banners like the one below are appearing inside the park:

Rome? Rumored names for the coaster include Centurion and Fury 325. Centurion certainly fits with the Roman-themed teasers.
And what about those Roman numerals? They likely point to the announcement date: August 21, 2014.
Many rumors are pointing to this being a Leviathan-like B&M giga coaster.
Early last week, Screamscape posted alleged site plans for the 2015 coaster. Although unconfirmed, they give those who are anxiously awaiting news a glimpse at a possible layout.

What do you think of the park’s plans for 2015? I’m not a huge fan of having two coasters that are rather similar (Intimidator, a B&M hyper coaster and the 2015 coaster, possibly a B&M giga coaster), but it’s nice to see Cedar Fair investing in the park.

Awesome. Still waiting to hit some of the Cedar Fair parks. We have been to Kings Dominion. But why not a winged coaster? I haven’t ridden one yet but I’m READY! COASTER TIME!!!!
Looks like an awesome coaster. Might not be a B&M Hyper though, I tend to agree with you about having similar coasters in one park. Parks have been know to through a few rumors in to the mix to keep people off track (pun intended). 🙂

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is a Wing Coaster since there are currently only one 7 right?

This is just my prediction.. don’t get salty if you disagree!
It being a wing coaster is a possibility, but i think that it will be another B&M giga based on the fact that at Canada’s Wpnderland they opened Leviathan when they already had the similar Behemoth coaster. I also believe that other cedar fair parks with B&M hypers will also build B&M gigas in the future.
I also found on the Carowinds home page some roman numerals, i decoded them and found out that it was a date: 8/21/2014 the date that they will announce the new coaster.
From what I’ve read. Even though B&M Hypers and Giga’s look similar, the ride experience is completely different.
