Carowinds 2015 Coaster May Look Something Like This

It’s no secret that Carowinds is planning something for the 2015 season. After all, Cedar Fair announced in 2013 that it would be investing $50 million in the park over a three-year time span.

UPDATE: On August 21, 2014, Carowinds announced Fury 325, a B&M Giga Coaster. Learn more here.

A big chunk of that $50 million investment will likely go towards the 2015 project, which the park began teasing earlier this month. And now banners like the one below are appearing inside the park:

Rome? Rumored names for the coaster include Centurion and Fury 325. Centurion certainly fits with the Roman-themed teasers.

And what about those Roman numerals? They likely point to the announcement date: August 21, 2014.

Many rumors are pointing to this being a Leviathan-like B&M giga coaster.

Early last week, Screamscape posted alleged site plans for the 2015 coaster. Although unconfirmed, they give those who are anxiously awaiting news a glimpse at a possible layout.

YouTube user OpticalKiwi took the plans and created an amazing No Limits 2 animation of what the coaster may look like, based on the leaked plans. Watch it below:

What do you think of the park’s plans for 2015? I’m not a huge fan of having two coasters that are rather similar (Intimidator, a B&M hyper coaster and the 2015 coaster, possibly a B&M giga coaster), but it’s nice to see Cedar Fair investing in the park.
