A-Z Coaster of the Week: BomBora

The A-Z Coaster of the Week is BomBora, found at Lagoon Park in Farmington, Utah. A surf themed family roller coaster, BomBora was Lagoon’s ninth coaster. It’s name is a term that means “a confluence of waves.”

The 45 foot tall ride has two 16-passenger trains with lighting effects and on-board audio which blasts surfer themed music such as “Wipe Out.” Lagoon organized a few companies and individuals to produce the ride at a cost of over five million dollars.DSCN7878

The theoretical hourly ride capacity (THRC) is approximately 950 riders per hour. BomBora occupies a space towards the back of the park which is 100 by 200 feet. The length of the track is a curvy 1,000 feet and the top speed is 31 miles per hour.
