Universal Orlando Teases Diagon Alley Details

Universal Orlando has begun to release more details about Diagon Alley, the sequel land to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which opened in the summer of 2010 at Islands of Adventure. Diagon Alley is expected to open sometime in 2014.

In the extended video below, Mark Woodbury, president, Universal Creative, along with creatives Stuart Craig and Dale Mason discuss some of Diagon Alley’s features, including the Leaky Cauldron restaurant and the Hogwarts Express which will transport guests between the two Harry Potter lands.

Universal Orlando has also begun to release short teaser advertisements in advance of the land’s opening next year.

The first teaser declares that the traditional vacation as we know it will be no more with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. The video shows various traditional vacation hot spots deserted.

Watch carefully in the second teaser below around the 8-second mark for a glimpse at the rumored indoor roller coaster themed around Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Finally, in another video, James Phelps, who portrayed Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter films, announced a live webcast that will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. EST. This webcast will reveal even more details about Diagon Alley.
