Hersheypark recently announced a family coaster, two family flat rides and two new dining options for the 2014 season.
The rides haven’t received names yet, but details of the additions were posted on the park’s website:
Family Coaster
The park will open a family coaster, which looks like a Zamperla Family Gravity Coaster model. The coaster will be located in Music Box Way adjacent to the GEICO Fender Bender ride. “This helix-shaped memory machine will allow our younger guests to experience the thrill of a coaster for the first time!” the park states.
Surprisingly, Hersheypark has been without a small “kid-friendly” coaster like this since the park’s Mini-Comet closed in 1978.
Tea Cups
The park will also debut a classic tea cups-style ride, which will open in “The Hollow” area of the park. This may be a Zamperla product as well.
Family Swing
Also opening in The Hollow area is a Zamperla Happy Swing.
Two New Eateries
Guests will also find two new dining options in 2014: “Chickie’s & Pete’s, the legendary Philadelphia/South Jersey eatery known for their signature crabfries” as well as a frozen yogurt stand.
Kudos to Hersheypark for including family-friendly offerings in their new attraction investments.
