Silverwood Prepares for Scarywood 2013

Scarywood will “scare the yell out of” Silverwood guests this Halloween season. The park’s fifth-annual “Scarywood” event begins today, Friday, October 4, 2013.

Due to previous years’ success, Scarywood now features “11 new attractions and bone-chilling haunts as well as more scare zones scattered throughout the park with unforeseen haunts, creatures and ghouls concealed in fog, strategically placed to keep our guests on the edge of panic and fright.”

Below are a few of the new frights you’ll find at Scarywood this year:

  • What was formerly the Terror Canyon Trail (Thunder Canyon raft ride) will again be drained and converted into The Ancient Ruins where you will meander through the twisted darkness into a maze of your worst nightmares.
  • 3-Dementia, a 3-D attraction (3-D glasses provided), has been relocated to the southern end of Scarywood and drastically improved. 3-Dimentia is based on a once pleasant fun zone gone horribly wrong, which gave rise to a distorted mass of anarchy. What lies around each corner, one never knows.
  • Blood Bayou, the forest-themed haunted attraction – unlike anything the Northwest has ever seen – was constructed in 2010 in the museum building which lies just north of Main Street. New scenes to intensify the terror will be added in 2013. You’ll be scared with every twist and turn of this diabolical scream machine of a haunt!

  • The Zombiewood Express – Mild-mannered Steam Engine No. 7 will once again transform into a fortified zombie hunting machine that will take you on an action-packed and sometimes humorous battle that only the fearless will survive. And, in 2013 new zombie adventures and stunts will keep you on edge.
