Last October, we interviewed Tim Cole, a roller coaster enthusiast who is building a model of the infamous Airplane Coaster that operated at Rye Playland from 1928 to 1957. He recently sent us some spectacular images of his progress on the coaster.
The model is 17 and 1/2 “ tall. It is built to scale (1” = 5’).
If I didn’t know better, I would say this was a real roller coaster.
Tim is “eyeballing” the model and isn’t using computers. That’s an impressive feat.
His attention to detail is brilliant.

We’d like to thank Tim for sending us these pictures. Be sure to like the “Bring Back the Airplane Coaster” Facebook page.
