We travel to Arkansas for this week’s A-Z Coaster of the Week: Twist ‘n Shout at Magic Springs. Unfortunately, however, Twist ‘n Shout closed at the end of 2012 season and is now on its way to a new home (see below).
The Zamperla wild mouse had a troubled past. It originally opened at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier as “Wild Wonder” in 1999. That same year, a mother and her daughter died on the coaster when the its lift mechanism malfunctioned.
The coaster reopened the next year at Magic Springs as “Twist ‘n Shout.” In 2006, a woman was injured when she was thrown from the coaster
According to RCDB, the coaster will reopen this year at Family Kingdom Amusement Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. But if you have an extra $439,000 lying around, the coaster is still listed for sale at Rides4U.
I rode the coaster in the summer of 2006. It was very rough, even for a wild mouse coaster. I had no intention of riding again.

Terrible ride and good riddance. But it’s nice to see more of Magic Springs on here!
